Energy Testing

The team at Aspen Insulation is highly trained and qualified to offer energy testing for new construction and existing structures. We have undergone Home Energy Rating System (HERS) training, and we are certified by the Building Performance Institute.

Using methods such as blower door and duct blaster testing, we can gauge the air tightness in a home. During a blower door test, we mount a fan into the frame of an exterior door. The fan pulls air out of the house, lowering the air pressure inside. The higher outside air pressure then flows in through any unsealed openings. Through duct blaster testing, we use a calibrated fan to assess the airtightness of the building’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
